Cortona in the
beautiful Tuscany is a delightful town full of history and
atmosphere. Andre travels to Cortona many times each
year both to perform and to relax with good friends.
Aside from the town itself, Cortona has some pleasant
surprises offering shopping, jewellery and other delights.
Ancient legends claim that after the flood, Noah traveled to
the region and settled for a time on the hilltop of Cortona.
The architecture and steep narrow streets are enjoyable to
explore. Those who are observant can spot the
interesting figures in the form of dolphins and fierce sea
monsters.
Cortona has some incredible churches and museums, the Madonna del
Calcinaio church constructed in
1484 and
Palazzo Casali is the Museo dell'Accademia Etrusca where you
will find etruscan and even Egyptian relics.
Imagine staying in Cortona and drinking in the atmosphere in
the town square on sunset over a wine. There are many
reasonable accommodation options available within short
distance to the Palazzo Casali.
The video below is a most beautiful
performance from the Cortona concert by Carmen
Monarcha singing 'O Mio Babbino Caro' - enjoy...
For those who had the privilege of being in Cortona for
Andre's concert that was televised and made available in DVD
still talk fondly of this concert. Andre attended to
every detail with his production crew and made absolutely
certain that everything was perfect for the night, the
lighting, atmosphere and of course the musical experience
that left many in tears.
When is Andre and his orchestra playing next in Cortona?
